I come from a jazz background and is one of my main tools of teaching. It is a great spring board to use to dive into the world of music. I also imply a lot of music harmony in my lessons, it’s important that the student knows what they are doing and how they are doing it.
A lot of my current students are working in Confidence building and trying to be more comfortable with the saxophone and I push them out side the box in order for them to build a strength to deal with music situations.
One of my main features of my lessons are improvisation. Its not something that everyone wants to do but I believe its important for musicians to experience and try. It opens up a different avenue of thought an allows the musician to be creative with limits in place as they solo. That will obviously need simple background knowledge like music theory.
I teach from all ages if its a simple lesson to learn a song or to start a new hobby or to get back into music. I can help out and teach you how to play effectively and with a presence on the stage ready to play!!
