After gaining some valuable experience in marketing for companies such as The Economist, I sought to pursue my passion for education by moving to China, where I taught AP United States History and academic writing skills at a highly reputable bilingual school in Shandong province. According to the College Board statistics, my students achieved a 100% pass rate, 41.2% above the global average. Since 2020, I have served online AP US, World, and Euro History students studying in the United States, China, Khazakstan, Canada, New Zealand, South Korea, and the UK. My experience over these past few years has led to invitations to design history curriculums for up-and-coming online high schools and an accredited college in Florida.
Regarding the British curriculum, I have instructed various online A-Level History classes with multiple exam boards, namely Edexcel (International) and AQA. A major focus of my instruction is exam proficiency and writing skills, alongside approaching historical content from a range of political and philosophical perspectives. These also draw from strategies explored during my teacher training for a Washington D.C. Teaching Licensure, leading me to achieve 194/200 (97%) in my Social Science Secondary High School Praxis teaching exam and 84% in the Principles of Learning and Teaching exam.
In terms of my academic background, I am in the process of publishing several scholarly articles on topics on 19th-century American History and the early colonization of the Americas set for release this year. My academic interests and tutoring intersect as I continually develop and improve my understanding of contemporary scholarly debates that enrich my History instruction. This commitment to further study also contributes to my consultation services for essay writing skills, especially for students participating in academic writing competitions such as The Harvard International Review, The Concord Review, and John Locke Competition, leading to various prizes for submissions under my guidance.
Overall, I am a versatile and high-energy educator who focuses on results while maintaining a passion and love for my subject. Feel free to say hello and book a consultation for your educational or academic goals!
