About me

I look to get to know and build rapport with my students as quickly as possible as this, more than anything, fosters effective learning in the long run. I then try to teach my given subject topics in an engaging, visual and relevant way. And, knowing that many have an unhappy background experience with Maths, I try hard to be approachable, affirming, engaging and - where needed - patient.

I am a great believer in trying to give students as much practice as possible, noting carefully as far as possible where gaps in their knowledge lie. I have a strong preference for using level-appropriate Maths Workbooks that can be screen-shared for my tuition. These ensure that learning is thorough, online annotation by me is easy, students have a revision aid, and homework exercises are an option.

Particular skills I work on include exam preparation, unlocking individual topics, invaluable resource ideas and building stronger foundations in core areas of Maths. With this approach I am certain I can help any student grow significantly in their confidence, subject knowledge, motivation and grade improvement.
