James Haigh

In A-Level Music and Religious Studies, I achieved A's. In A-level Philosophy, my grade was an A*. I am an academic representative at Regents Theological College. This involves giving guidance to students in person and online. I have advised students about evaluation, critical analysis, specialist terminology, structuring essays and forming reasoned conclusions supported by the comprehensive appraisal of evidence. I am studying for an undergraduate degree in Applied Theology. I studied ancient Hebrew during this degree course.

In A level Philosophy, topics like epistemology have helped me to write with clear intent whilst sustaining logical understanding. GCSE subjects like History and English enriched my literary and contextual analysis.

My work experience involves leading a youth group and being a member of the National Youth Folk Ensemble for three years. This developed my skills in time management and leadership. When I studied drama, I performed in various theatres with the Open Minds Theatre Company; this improved my communication skills. I have worked as a guitarist by recording at studios, teaching and performing at many venues and festivals. One ensemble I was in got nominated for a BBC Radio 2 Folk Award; the same station has played our music. I therefore have a lot of work experience that will be beneficial to skills like meeting agendas, email communication, file maintenance and writing.
