I have tutored a range of students all with varied skill sets, from students with little knowledge of Maths to students very proficient in Maths. Using that experience, I like to teach lessons based off of how students react to different teaching styles and their individual needs. In a general case I like to; run through a powerpoint/slide pack of a topic to help boost understanding, work through some revision questions to help cement that understanding, then let the student have a go at some past exam questions to make sure they have mastered that topic. I can however, vary each of those stages for any individual.
I excel in teaching exam techniques, which allows me to boost the confidence of students who struggle with exam stress. I find that the techniques/approaches to exam questions play a big part in improving grades and hope to be able to teach my students the appropriate methods to help them throughout the course.
I use a large variety of resources when teaching including; Slide Packs/PowerPoints, Textbook revision questions, Past exam papers and more...
I hope to be able to develop not just a fundemental undertsanding of the Maths I teach, but an enjoyment for it as I find that allows students to really boost their understanding of the subject.
