Hello everyone! My name is James Denbigh and I am currently studying for my integrated Masters degree in Chemical Engineering at the University of Southampton. I have been teaching English as a foreign language for 2 years now and loved every minute of watching my students grow and become more fluent in English. There will be plenty of chance for you to tell me about yourself in our lesson, but first, a bit about myself...
My passion for teaching started a few years ago when I was presented with the opportunity to train to be an instructor for skiing. I grasped the opportunity with both hands and fell in love with being a part of peoples improvement. I am still instructing skiers to this day!
My TEFL journey began two years ago where I was presented with the incredible opportunity to travel to Poland for a week to live with 10 other strangers from around the world and help Polish teenagers with their conversational English. This seemed like a daunting task however it was not one I could turn down. The week was very tasking, however it was the most rewarding thing I have ever done! It gave me an even better feeling than the ski instructing did and there was no way I could let it go. Experiencing a new culture and being able to share mine while also helping these people to develop a skill which they could use for the rest of their lives was something I wanted to be a part of. So when I came back home I got straight into my qualification so I could continue teaching and bring my knowledge to you.
