I use either a zoom or google meets for lessons. I have plenty of material at my disposal that I have gathered over the years of tutoring. These include some basic building problems to start a new concept, all the way to more challenging problems that would make you think about what we have learned so far and how to use that to get the answer we need. I like to start off a lesson by asking some basic questions about the material to get a feel of what the student knows and doesn't know right from the beginning. This lets me know how to proceed with my tutorial. I like to show students different ways of approaching a problem to see which one works best for the student. Some students like a more visual approach, while other students just want to crunch the numbers. Some students are struggling with a topic and I start them off slowly and build up to the concept, while others students have a good knowledge of the material and I can challenge to use that knowledge to solve other problems. I have been tutoring these last three years in the Chicago Public School system, mainly tutoring in Algebra. I have also privately tutored in Trigonometry. I have a bachelor's degree in Mathematical Sciences and Computer Science from the University of Memphis. This has prepared me to tutor any level of high school mathematics. I also tutored at the Mathnasium in Memphis, where students would come in after school and on weekends to get help in any area of math. Math is my passion. I love just working on problems and helping students better their own math skills.
