I am a Lifelong Artist, 11 years a BA Hons Fine Art graduate from University of Brighton, foundation diploma at Central Saint Martins, London. Currently a career painter, 7 years of experience instructing adults in art and craft. I teach by demonstration using traditional methods, feedback, constructive critique and confidence building.
I present the coursework as highly personalised to you as possible - philosophically relating the lessons with your own interests, to knit an artistic way of thinking into your existing knowledge and interests.
I support in a constructive way that aids critical thinking and nurtures self-confidence in your approach and ideas. We will understand that areas for improvement aren't things to be ashamed of, but are areas within which you can make the most gains, and celebrate your successes wherever we see them.
We will first try exercises that train your observation, imagination, and develop focus. We can then learn how to look at art we love and art we don't, and figure out why. Then we can look at why you make the art that you make, we can examine how to technically improve on your presentation of those ideas, and Most importantly, we will find out how to continue to teach ourselves going forward.
KS1-5, Higher Education, Early Career Artists and Creators, I can assist you in your Drawing, Critical Thinking, Portfolio Development and Presentation Skills in preparation for interview or assessment.
Essentially: I am here to help you come closer to being the best Artist you can be.
