Hello! I am James, a university student looking to tutor GCSE maths.
When I was approaching GCSEs, I found the best way to revise was from a practical approach, answering past GCSE papers, or past questions on certain subjects. I understand however that this approach doesn't work for everyone though, so I will always listen to what you, the student want to do.
In our first sessions, I would like to see what you can do and what you are confident in. This will include a past paper, but there is no pressure on it, it is solely a benchmark to see what you are competent in/ what you may struggle with.
Most importantly, I want to hear from you. I understand that not everyone is going to learn the same, so I want to be able to cater my sessions based on what is best for you.
During my GSCEs, I received all grades between 7-9, as well as being Head Student in my High School and Sixth Form.
I enjoy Maths, even going on to study it at A level, and studying Mathematics-based modules during my university course
Recently, I helped a family member with GCSE maths revision, breaking it down to be more understandable. This led them to go from a failing to a passing mark.
Outside of tutoring, I study Business Management at university, with an interest in logistics (transport). I also enjoy playing tennis and football, representing my university in tennis.
If you have any questions, don't hesitate to reach out.
