My name is James and I'm an undergraduate at the University of Oxford studying physics. I matriculated in 2023, and I'm soon to finish my first year. I've always enjoyed learning the rigorous fields of maths and physics, and have found tutoring to be a great way to share that passion with others. So far, I have tutored 8 students, giving me over 60 hours of experience in delivering high quality lessons. All my students have said that they would recommend me to a friend, and all have vastly improved their marks in school.
At A-level I studied maths, further maths, physics and chemistry and achieved A*A*A*A*, as well as an A* for my EPQ on theoretical physics. At GCSE level I obtained This makes me an ideal candidate to be your tutor, as I understand the work and the techniques the examiners are looking for to get those top marks.
In my lessons I use a question-focused approach to tackle the weak areas in a student's understanding - sharing valuable insights that have allowed me to get the top marks.
I tailor my lessons to the specific needs and learning styles of the individual, but always with an emphasis on grasping the content at a deeper level and most importantly enjoying the learning process.
When I don't have my head in a textbook you can find me playing the piano, which I play to a grade 8 standard, the guitar or the clarinet. I also play rugby, and played at county level.
