A famous mathematician once said "studying mathematics without a pen and paper is like daydreaming" and mathematics is not a spectators sport, with this in mind my lessons aim to encourage students to actively learn the subject and to be actively engaging with the lesson and assignments at hand to build a solid understanding and confidence in the topics they learn.
This approach has shown massive success particularely among math reading groups and private study sessions where the students were i encouraged my students to present on the topics they are studying and explain them in there own words, they were able to notice the patterns in the lessons and gain a intuitive understanding of the subjects at hand, assignments naturally are a important part of any study session as its the only time a student gets to express himself and his problem solving skills and test his ability and progress.
With active learning im confident any student can master any mathematical subject he tackles and hence why my philosophy is
"Learn actively!"
