My lessons are typically targeted at GCSE students aged 13-16 who are keen to achieve excellent grades.

I teach biology, chemistry and physics for GCSE at both triple science and combined science level (foundation and higher).
I teach and am familiar with most exam boards including AQA, Edexcel and OCR.

I have experience in tutoring my fellow peers through their GCSE examinations as well as currently tutoring my peers as they sit their A levels. This allows me to harbour a passion for tutoring and have a wide range of students to learn from and refine my skills and exam techniques.

I have an excellent academic record of achieving all A*s at GCSEs and having achieved 3 A* predicted grades for my A levels. I was awarded the highest GCSE grade award at my school.

A general guide to my lesson structure (1 hour) for GCSE students is as follows:

- Start with a synopsis and review of previously learnt content as well as regular and rapid "Quick fire questions".

-Ask the student about their particular weaknesses and areas of improvement and aim to target those areas for personalised teaching.

- Review 'common mistakes' typically made by students and ensure that an understanding of topics is achieved rather than simple memorisation.

- Upon completion of a reviewed topic, attempt a range of exam questions with the student including long answer/short response/multiple-choice/ synoptic/ evaluate type questions.

- Provide a guide on typical responses/sentences that always score marks in exams.

- Assess what has been learnt through plenary quizzes and personalised reviews.

- Finally, I conclude each lesson with tips on independent study and revision for guaranteed exam success.

I combine a laid-back, conversational, fluid-style approach with a personalised and academically excellent lesson structure to ensure that students have an amazing experience that allows them to not only remember science but also understand it. This in addition to humor and anectodes with acronyms and mnemonics mixed in, helps to simplify complex topics which allows for an enjoyable and helpful lesson.
