Jake Yeates

I deliver 1:1 and 1:2 English teaching, from Entry Level up to Functional Skills Level 2 and GCSE Higher Level. I am qualified at Level 4 in English.
I have extensive experience of supporting learning and teaching in English and Maths (Functional Skills and GCSE) for learners aged 16 to 25. Many of the learners whom I currently teach have disabilities, and/or specific learning needs (including dyslexia).

The format of my lessons is often online (via Zoom), but mainly in-person (classroom-based learning, both 1:1 and group-based). For classroom-based lessons, I provide thoroughly-researched lesson plans according to the needs of each of my learners (including their learning level, the requirements of the relevant qualification (the curriculum) and any specific access needs which the learners may have.

I have been teaching and supporting learning in - Functional Skills English and Maths for approximately seven years, at a specialist college in Birmingham UK. Over this time, I have participated in much professional development to improve my teaching practice in all areas of my work. Before the above, I worked as a learning support assistant in English, Maths and ICT (Functional Skills). Throughout this time, I have undertaken numerous professional development opportunities and qualifications, which continue to enhance my teaching competence.
