I found during my time as a GCSE/A Level student, practice questions were the best revision material for me, so my lessons will include lots of questions, markings, analysis of desired answers and explanations of what the examiner wants you to write! I can produce worksheets targeting your weaknesses and we can go over whichever topics you find the hardest until you’ve achieved a solid understanding, and can apply this to answering exam questions.
Currently, I’ve tutored one student through her GCSE’s, in chemistry and biology. This involved working through questions together, little presentations on the subject areas she didn’t fully understand when her teachers taught them, further reading (around the subject, into A Level standard etc.), and setting ‘homework’ for her to go away and do before we met again that I could mark and return to her, giving both me and her an insight into areas of strength and areas that required some improvement. This student ended up with a grade 7 which was much higher than her predicted grade 5.
I was also tutored myself throughout studying for my A Levels, so I have a great kind of idea of what goes into targeting areas students both feel that need improvement and even ones they might not realise need action.
I can teach in ways that may be different to what you’ve been taught by your teachers, or provide alternate angles on topics that I think would definitely help your understanding, being a student myself, i know some of the best modern revision techniques that actually work when aiming for them top grades.
