I have spent the last three years studying community music for my undergraduate. Prior to my undergraduate i travelled with ICS to Uganda, doing volunteering work at schools prior to lockdown in 2020, this trip enabled me to break down the language barrier with music, following this i went to Costa Rica in 2021 where I brought my guitar and continued to use music as a means of creating a shared understanding. I noticed the positivity that music brought and how much of an impact it had on people’s lives, both emotionally and mentally.
With online sessions teaching one on one i intend to teach guitar in a way that is inviting, allows for creativity and reaches an end goal that the student is happy with, so that they can then progress on to the next step. We will cover chord progressions, rhythm and timing, strumming patterns and covers. Finding even just three chords and building a rhythm is one of the most rewarding parts of becoming a guitarist, and we will take each step at a pace that suits you.
