Hello!
I work with my students discussing ideas and concepts, which brings me intellectually close to them. This allows empathy to guide the learning process.
One of the challenges I often face during my lessons is answering an insightful question. If I'm not able to do it independently, I focus on relating to my pupil through a simpler concept we are both familiar with. By breaking this concept down into smaller pieces, I'm able to enlighten both them and myself about its fundamentals; I then use these fundamentals to answer the original question.
With this dynamic, I've been able to help dozens of students getting ahead of their class and pass exams while lowering their stress. If you are interested, I'll be happy to put you in contact with some of them so that you can chat about anything you're interested.
The thing I enjoy most about teaching is listening to my students and learning about them. When I can help with a tough concept or methodology, I believe I make the highest possible impact if I can relate my presentation to how the student reckons already known matters.
This is the reason why I mostly avoid memorizing stuff. It's true that sometimes we're required to know things by heart, but that's not how I most enjoy studying, and so I project that during my lessons.
----- My teaching methodology ----- It's all about the fundamentals:
Bring me a concept you find tough to grasp and I'll break it down to you. By rewinding to the basics, I assess where you are. Then, it's simply a matter of building up from there, using the same methods you yourself utilize to know what you already understand.
In other words: I'll ask you to explain a concept you already know to me. This way, I familiarize with how your mind reckons things. Then, I imitate this reckoning to guide you through new ideas.
----- A lesson tailored specifically for you -----
Exam prep:
I offer exam preparation and methods to get those precious marks. It's not rare to find a student who, knowing and understanding the content of the syllabus, still is not able to get a satisfactory grade on those sneaky papers!
I'll show you how to read the questions so that you know exactly what is being asked, and how to answer the way they want you to!
I hope to see you soon in the classroom!
