I offer all my new clients a taster lesson at a discounted rate, within which we will discuss which areas the student requires help with, and an action plan to cover any gaps in knowledge. After that, a typical lesson will last an hour. First, we will quickly review past content to keep previously studied content fresh in mind, before starting new content. I aim for lessons to be highly interactive, and more discussion-based as I guide the student to the right conclusion, as opposed to me just reading off a powerpoint. We also will explore how to answer different styles of exam questions and finally finish with a review of what we have learned. In addition to this, I will provide a summary sheet covering all the key points that are needed for the exams, which the student can keep. This structured yet engaging approach ensures that the student remains interested and retains the information effectively.
I have always enjoyed teaching and mentoring. From Year 10 to Year 13, I mentored many students in the younger years, helping them catch up with school work, and helping them prepare for internal exams, as well as GCSEs. In addition to this, I have experience tutoring friends and family, reviewing content that they struggled with and have prepared them for various GCSEs and A Levels, including preparation before the exam day itself! I have also worked as a tutor for another tutoring company this past year. This experience has taught me that all students are very different from each other, and a personalised individual approach is needed. I am happy to be flexible with my teaching in accordance with my student's needs.
