I love connecting math to the world! I approach teaching as first having the student explain their understanding. I believe understanding the way the math works is always the aim, not rote memorization. Mathematic intuition can be taught. Once I see how the student is understanding the mathematic relationships, I like to see if I can help them understand it more clearly by talking about the variables and their relationship in a human way. The variables correspond to each other, just like people do! I have tutored in both mathematics and art. I have tutored young children, ages 8-13 and high school students, ages 17-18. I love teaching arithmetic, algebra, trigonometry and calculus. I am an abstract thinker, and love to share this with the world. I hope I can help you or your children to grasp how math moves and what you can do with it!
