I try to make my lessons fun and interactive. I use PowerPoint slides online so that you can see what I am talking about and allow access to microphone, video and chat box for online lessons. There may be lesson in which experiments could be done that you or the student may have to buy materials or look around the house for. I try to keep these as cheap as possible and not anything house destructive!!
The content of my lessons consists of all basic biology from Reception to Year 11.
I like to ask a few questions at the end of each session to recap and ensure as to whether the student has correctly understood the topic being taught in that session.
I like to use a personalised approach and therefore try to see how the student best learns and what keeps the most engaged so that they learn quicker and that it doesn’t feel detrimental to them if they feel they are stuck and don’t understand a certain topic. I have a lot of patience and people skills to understand any emotion helping them to believe in themselves and have the resilience to push though until they understand and retain the information.
