I make sure that the students are an agent of their own learning, providing them with responsibility. I will guide and provide all resources for the learning. I aim to engage the long term memory and Motivate the students by providing engaging learning but also ensure critical thinking takes place. I want the student to feel confident and comfortable to ensure an optimal learning experience. The sessions will be catered to the needs of the student and we will create a goal together, this is done together to ensure they feel involved in their learning journey, this also links to engagement and long term memory. We will begin with a warm up game to gauge understanding and asses the best teaching method to approach. I will then introduce the learning or review of learning which we will explore together. We will consider the new learning and discuss potential misconceptions and difficulties we may face and how to overcome them. We will then test/practice the learning from the sessions assessing the proficiency of the student. If at this point I assess that more learning is necessary we will Recap and review. If the student struggled this will become our warm up activity. This is because repetition and engagement support critical thinking and the long term memory.
