Jacy Wilkes

As an experienced professional photographer, I am deeply passionate about both my craft and empowering others to unlock their creative potential. With a Master’s in Photography, a BA (Hons) in Fashion, and a Diploma in Art and Design, I combine a solid academic background with years of hands-on experience, allowing me to bring both technical expertise and creative insight to my teaching. I am also currently pursuing my Certificate in Education, which is further enhancing my ability to guide students effectively and provide them with the clarity and direction they need to succeed.

Throughout my career, I have been fortunate to receive recognition through several prestigious awards, including being shortlisted for two British Photography Awards, winning three National Property Awards, and being a finalist for Property Photo of the Year for three consecutive years. These accolades reflect my commitment to excellence and my ability to blend both creative vision and technical proficiency in photography.

As a tutor, my primary focus is on nurturing creativity while helping students develop both technical skills and artistic vision. I strive to create a supportive and encouraging learning environment where students feel confident to experiment, make mistakes, and grow as artists. My approach is both patient and hands-on, with an emphasis on building a solid understanding of both the fundamentals and the more advanced aspects of photography.

Whether my students are just beginning their photography journey or refining their skills, my goal is to inspire and challenge them, offering the tools, techniques, and knowledge necessary for their artistic and technical development. I believe in helping each student realise their full potential, equipping them to thrive in the ever-evolving world of photography.
