My lessons would consist of presentations containing key information about the texts, potential themes and key characters. Sometimes I may get students to write down key information that I have presented to them and get them to memorise by creating flashcards. If they ask me to look over a piece of work, if I spot any obvious grammar or spelling mistakes or misunderstandings of the texts I would help them to correct.
I have been studying creative writing and English Literature at Anglia Ruskin University in Cambridge and I believe that I can use those skills to assist students who struggle with certain aspects of the subject. With my knowledge I can help students understand how to backup their points they make in essays. I have a strong amount of knowledge on a variety of Shakespeare texts, like Macbeth, The Merchant Of Venice, Hamlet, as well as some of Charles Dickens' famous works like Great Expectations and A Christmas Carol.
I would try to keep my lessons simple but engaging so that the students aren't being overwhelmed with tons of content at once. I am currently writing a novel myself so when helping students struggling with the English Language side of the subject, I would be able to guide them with understanding where to spot things and what the texts could be saying. I can convince students not to give up and show them that what they are being asked to study can be seen as fun if they open their minds.
