I'm currently a student studying financial trading and investment management. I also have a level in maths and a gcse. My finance background allows me to implement practicality and a lot of real-world examples to maths helping to immerse my students into the subject and help provide if wanted further studies on stock trading and other financial modelling.

I start off by speaking to the student for a couple of minutes, understanding what they want themselves to get out of the lesson, and identify areas in which they are struggling most. I always begin introducing the theory behind the maths and make sure any accompanying additional maths is at the right standard. I then start to show a range of questions to the students, while explaining once again what the maths is your actually doing so, they develop a greater understanding rather than just learning each question off by heart. I finish off by applying another range of questions, to help give them a confidence in their own ability, while at the end giving them sites where they can further access question material or pursue further learning of an area.
