I have a PGCE with QTS and have been teaching MFL since 2019. My methods are developed using Gianfranco Conti's meta-cognitive strategies, using sentence builders to develop students' language acquisition and aid their process to 'automation' namely using language with accuracy and proficiency.
Further to this, I have developed my own active listening/reading strategies to best prepare students for their examinations, by deconstructing texts in order to identify core language and to focus on the 'small words' that are designed to catch students out.
Additionally I have developed a valuable strategy for producing written texts that include all of the constituent elements of a grade 9 piece of work. It breaks down the mark scheme and provides student's with the tools and vocabulary to build their own piece of writing that includes the necessary elements to gain the highest possible mark in the writing section of the GCSE exam.
Finally I have prepared groups for the speaking exams across various languages and conducted the exams myself, therefore I have a wealth of experience in what examiners are looking for in the speaking element of the GCSE exam.
Having trained and taught both in-class and online I am an adaptable and flexible teacher who is able to draw on a wealth of experience and a variety of digital tools to deliver engaging lessons with a clear focus on preparing students for their examinations.
