- General questions. I will ask the students if they have any general questions before we begin. Whether that be about who I am, or if there is any specific material they want me to cover during the lesson. I want to be able to answer all questions during my lesson.
-Main lesson. We will go over whatever worksheet, homework, or practice problems are needed. Asking questions routinely about where they feel stuck or confused, and filling in any gaps of knowledge. This is a slow process, and a lot of patience is needed from both me and the student.
-Brain breaks. If I see that a student is feeling flustered and/or frustrated we will take a "brain break". This could be playing a game, or just talking about how their day went. I want all my students to have a healthy relationship with academics, and ensuring they do not get to overwhelmed is a great way to start.
-Finishing the lesson. Hopefully, by the end of the lesson, my students feel more confident in their abilities. I want them to feel empowered in being able to tackle difficult concepts, and not scared to ask any questions. I will ask them is there are any final questions and address them before ending the lesson.
