-Music composition (both concert/classical music and music to picture and related skills like orchestration and making demos using virtual instruments)
-Trumpet, and other valved brass instruments such as Tenor/Alto Horn, Euphonium, Baritone, Cornet etc.
-Music production including using Logic Pro and GarageBand for music creation
Jack's has composed music for multiple award-winning films such as Past Life Whispers (2023, Christ Heart), The Club of Gods (2023, Hardik Parikh). His music for the screen spans a wide range of tastes and styles, ranging from full-scale orchestral scores to electronic soundtracks involving synthesisers and found sound.
Highlights of Jack's life in concert music include composing and conducting music in the UK Parliament, commissioned by the Speaker of the House of Commons, and receiving second prize in the European Brass Band Association Composers' Competition with 'Ascension,' performed by the Cory Band.
He is also an adept orchestrator and arranger of music, currently working with Matonizz & Fennel Production on arrangements for brass and piano.
Jack is a committed educator having taught dozens of students both online and in-person. His one-to-one lessons have helped students get university places, pass music theory exams all the way up to grade 8, improve their trumpet playing, hone their listening skills or plug gaps in their GCSE or A Level knowledge which weren't been properly covered in their school lessons. He has taught a wide range of age groups, ranging from primary school children GarageBand in classroom settings, helping GCSE students improve their pieces, all the way through to taking adult learners through complex and detailed music theory exams.
