I have an MPhys degree in Mathematical Physics from the University of Edinburgh and received a special prize from the SQA in 2012 for achieving full marks in Advanced Higher Mathematics. I am still fluent in the Mathematics required for SQA level courses.
My method of teaching is to walk students through the mathematical problem/theory step by step making sure that they understand each stage before moving on. If there are parts of which they are unsure, I make sure it is explained before moving on. I also develop my own mnemonics, techniques and methods of thinking that I like to pass on to students if it would be of help.
I have experience of tutoring and lecturing at the undergraduate level for courses in both Mathematics and Physics. Not only did I improve my teaching skills in doing so but also improved my own knowledge of the subject since a sure way to test one's knowledge is to try to teach the subject. I believe teaching should be approached with good humour to make it more memorable since the quality of a teacher can make or break one's interest in the topic.
I hope I can assist you in your Mathematical education and relieve any stress that you have about up and coming exams. I have been through the same process and understand what it feels like.
For now, I can only provide online tutoring so you will require a reliable internet connection if you wish to ask me for help.
