Jack Hartrey

As a current economics student at Lancaster University, with extensive experience as both a teaching assistant and an A-level economics tutor, I am very accomplished in delivering high quality economics tuition. Also, having sat my A-levels relatively recently, I have an excellent working knowledge of specific exam tips, a core understanding of the specification, and an insight into the nuances of economics as an academic subject.

My lessons are highly structured, generally incorporating in-depth explanations of core concepts, diagrammatic analysis, practise exam questions, and lots of student engagement. I pride myself in preparing and delivering lessons to an exceptional standard, both incorporating my own expertise and the student's input into my lesson consideration. Delivering lessons online, I typically use Zoom's interactive whiteboard, as well as screen-sharing, to clearly present topics with the aid of real-time diagrams and lesson slides.

In addition, my strong academic background and passion for the subject ensure that my lessons are captivating and engaging at all times. I like to utilise relevant case studies, real-life data, and some personal anecdotes, to make my lessons unique, make topics easier to understand, and to make the lessons even more enjoyable. I also specialise in being able to break down complicated topics into understandable bite-size snippets, utilising analogies and simpler models to ensure a cast-iron understanding of core concepts.

In sum, I am a highly experienced, well-qualified, and passionate individual, excited to share my love and knowledge of economics to fellow students. I would love to teach the subject to any A-level (or GCSE) students looking for tutoring, regardless of ability. Given my expertise and track record, I am confident that I will be able to make a tangible difference to the student(s) under my tuition.
