My teaching always, ALWAYS, revolves around play. I see it as critical for kids to be engaged in what they're learning- the brains synapses have even been shown to make more connections when properly engaged!
As such- lessons will revolve mainly around games. As an actor I rely on my energy and charisma (It's all a front, I'm incredibly dull in real life..) to keep children engaged and loving what they're doing. Saying this I'm very aware that every child is unique, with strengths and weaknesses to match- I feel it is vital- early on- to assess not only what methods work for the child in question, but also what level they're already at and what needs improving to get them the grades their future selves deserve.
I never enjoyed school growing up. And feel there's a world of improvement possible in how we can help kids grow into curious, kind, interested human beings. Hopefully I can make a start here.
