I am passionate about the subjects I teach and have real-world experience as a writer. Having earned my Master's degree online, I am intimate with the struggles and frustrations of the online student, and it is my goal to avoid all the issues I can while addressing those that I cannot. I am a passionate writer who genuinely enjoys all aspects of the craft from the simplest technical writing to the most obscure poetry.
While my career expertise is in writing, film, and literature, my first love is History. I have a broad knowledge of world History with some focus in Native American History, the interwar period of the 1920s and 30s, and the movement of people and culture throughout East Asia. I have studied under notable historians and ethnomusicologists, giving me a unique perspective of historiography and cultural heritage: While many primary sources are written, some are sung, and others are danced.
As a trained librarian, I am never short of sources and can help address citation issues, media literacy, and other college-level issues some students may have in obtaining information or scholarly sources. Well-read and always learning myself, I keep myself up to date on a number of scholarly pursuits. College is tough, but we're tougher! I can help connect students with tools and resources that will help them long into their professional careers.
It is my hope to instill the lifelong love of learning I have in those I teach. I hope to hear from you soon!
