Based in Brighton, I am happy to teach online or in person locally. I believe in using a variety of teaching methods for each student to create a personalised learning environment. No matter what experience you have I'm here to help you achieve short and long term goals, whether that be to have lessons for fun or to perform professionally!
I have an enthusiastic approach where lesson structure varies depending on a student's aspirations. By encouraging pupils to be creative through a variety of strategies, it has spurred me on to take a holistic approach with lessons. Research of Paul Harris’ Simultaneous Learning made me realise that complete structure is not necessarily good, and it is essential to encourage a ‘flow’ within the lesson.
I am involved in a lifelong commitment to music education and performing with musicians. I have many years experience in and outside of a classroom teaching Vocal Studies, Piano and Music Theory, as well as GCSE Music.
Educated with an MMus Music Performance (Vocal Studies) at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, I studied under the tutelage of Soprano Gail Pearson and pianist Sharon Richards and began teaching and performing in Fleet and Farnborough. I also have experience of performing solos internationally, specialising in Opera and Art Songs, and performing in internationally acclaimed choirs.
After a move south to Brighton, I’ve been working with young singers and instrumentalists on many choral, orchestral, operatic and musical projects. I am continuing to work as a teacher and performer, working regularly with young musicians preparing to launch their professional careers, and working with individuals that want to achieve personal goals through performing.
