Hello everyone,
I am a Biology tutor, offering help to students in need. I studied Biology at the University of Southampton (in the UK) and completed my Master's in Genetics at the Autonomous University of Barcelona (in Spain) right after. Currently, I am a Ph.D. researcher in Microbiology at the University of Cyprus. For 2.5 years, I have worked as a lecturer, teaching Microbiology, Biochemistry, and Physiology to university students at two different universities, both in English and Turkish, in Cyprus. As a highly creative and results-driven biologist, I am confident in my ability to make a significant contribution to the self-improvement of a student, in developing knowledge in Science. I have a proven track record of successfully tutoring and mentoring students and executing them with precision. My strong communication and interpersonal skills have enabled me to connect with my previous students and guide them in their learning journey. I am incredibly passionate about biology and enjoy sharing my knowledge with others. I am also patient and empathetic, understanding that students learn at different paces and in different ways. Additionally, I am continuously seeking to improve my knowledge and skills, and am open to feedback and constructive criticism.
My way of teaching includes presentations from PowerPoint slides with a lot of visual diagrams, pictures, and videos, which I believe makes learning more fun and effective. The lesson typically begins with an introduction to the topic, which may include a brief overview of the main concepts and ideas that will be covered. Depending on the level of the students, I also tend to include opportunities for class discussion or group activities that encourage students to share their thoughts, ideas, and questions related to the topic.
