First, we'll get you familiar with your syllabus. A lot of students come to tutors to meet certain academic learning goals. This will involve identifying your problem areas, as well as areas you are (unintentionally) overconfident in. Once we've found these, I will tailor a plan involving the use of diagrams, analogies, and a barrage of problems to introduce or review certain concepts; promote active retention, and improve your ability to apply your knowledge to unfamiliar problems. All this will lay a reinforced foundation for further learning. The majority of my content is problem-based, and will eventually progress to the stage where you can make your own problems, giving you a deeper understanding of what the examiners think when they set questions as well as the ability to apply the concepts to real-life scenarios (yes, math is actually useful outside of school).
My main teaching experience comes from volunteering to teach students at the secondary school & GCSE levels during my A-levels (4A*s). From then until my 3rd year of university, I tutored my coursemates on certain modules, helped my sister with her A-levels online, and had many more informal forms of teaching occur. The lessons would be delivered 1-on-1 online, so I can give you a personalized plan and accurately track your progression. I am ready to use all the skills, knowledge and insight I have gained throughout my studies to help you understand that math is simple. Improving your grades is always achievable; all you need to do is work with me to help you. See you soon!
