During the first lesson I listen to the student in order to have a rapid glimpse of the level at which the student is. I assess what are the improvement areas on which we should focus, the goals of the student and propose a plan to follow together.
I then ask for references and resources in order to built a program for the student accordingly to his/her time requirements.

1 hour lessons are approximately structured as follow:

1. fast recap on previous lesson (5-10 minutes)

2. Learning goals and theory lesson and example exercises (ppt presentation 20 minutes)

3. Student's questions (10 minutes)

4. Exercises (10 minutes)

5. Recap, next class and questions to the student (10 minutes)

A well structured oner to one lesson will help you to understand and consolidate your knowledge of chemistry at your peace and effectively.
