Hi, I'm Issy! I am an A-level student studying maths, further maths and physics. Having sat through many exams myself, I understand how stressful the experience can be. However, I'm enthusiastic about helping others to achieve their potential in exams, and enjoy understanding their subjects in depth.

My lessons generally consist of a starter activity, which tests the tutee on content from a previous session to ensure they don't forget anything they have already covered, followed by the main part of the session, in which we go over a topic the tutee is struggling with, including any assignments or tests they were having trouble with. The session finishes with a quiz to assess how well the they have got to grips with the content, and decide whether more work is needed on that particular topic. The lessons are flexible and are tailored to how the tutee learns best, as well as their progress throughout the session.

I have a year's experience tutoring secondary students through the charity Success4All, and I also work with younger children through my current role as a volunteer at a children's theatre. These roles have shown me that students of different ages need very different approaches to tutoring sessions. For secondary school students, exam-style questions are a key part of the sessions, since it is important to learn how to apply knowledge in the way exam boards want; nailing exam technique is the key to getting the top grades. For primary students, It is important to make the sessions are interactive and fun. I do this through the use of educational games and quizzes.
