My lessons consist of going over exam techniques and reviewing content learnt in school to enhance and strengthen knowledge. As a younger tutor myself, I can clearly remember the daunting days of grammar and private school exams as well as year 6 SATs. However through the pressure, I gained access into many solid grammar and private schools in my area as well as excellent marks in my arithmetic and reasoning exams, surpassing those above me and pushing myself to my limits. And there are many different ways to learn for all types of students and in my lessons, I will be exploring all the possible ways that your child can use to revise like active recall, flashcard work and past paper practise. Each lesson will consist of a 5-10 minute starter that consists of information from the previous lesson, as well as a short test on various different questions sourced from past papers. Then, the child will be walked through a topic whilst having the freedom to butt in when needed to inquire about what they are learning. Then, I will explain how to steadily answer a question whilst giving them exam tips and highlighting potential student mistakes that are typically made in the exam. I will also find out about the child's interests in order to make the lessons personalised to their liking. Then the child will be given independent work to complete based on topic and once completed, I will mark them live and review the child's performance into 'What Went Well' and 'Even Better If'. Afterwards, I would set them an assignment to do with the topic and whilst working on it, they can complete it with 24/7 support to myself as well.
