We start the lesson with a simple question starter and then discuss it. Then I teach using various resources from revision guides and textbooks and helpful videos to solidify your understanding. We will draw diagrams and watch videos together and design different revision techniques for each topic. We will then work through a few exam questions together before I give you work to complete independently. I will mark this and discuss any questions you have and then give homework. Being able to identify your strengths and weaknesses is key to building a revision plan. Before you leave I will inform you on the next lesson’s content.

One of the most important things I do is coach my students on their approach towards exams and how to prepare yourself mentally with a growth mindset, to utilise every setback as an opportunity to improve your skills.

I have been tutoring students from various ages, from primary to secondary (including GCSE) and A-Level which allows me to adapt my level of communication to suit the needs of the audience. One aspect of the lesson that remains the same for every age is its liveliness. Creating a welcoming environment helps the student to feel comfortable in asking for help or expressing their concerns for certain topics.
