All my lessons are thorough and engaging, personalised and tailored to the individual needs of the student. I tutor online through Microsoft teams, and this means I am more able to find a time that works for you.
Having more time with the student means I can adapt to their learning style and be patient with them to overcome barriers to their understanding. I'll first determine the level the student is at and any problems that need addressing and then I follow the scheme of work being done in the student's classroom. I link topics and extend their knowledge so they feel fully confident in their abilities, and hopefully even enjoy their lessons.
My best teachers were the ones who took the time and were patient enough to really help me understand a topic, rather than just rote memorisation, and managed to make the lessons fun. From them, I gained a passion for finding new ways to look at difficult problems and give students a lifelong love for learning.
Having worked as a lifeguard and in a creche for the past 2 years, I'm used to ensuring I keep a child's attention and they stay on track.
As a student at the University of Oxfordshire, I have a strong academic background and experience helping students to achieve their potential in their SATs and GCSEs, as well as for exams such as the UKMT. I believe any child's mathematics ability can flourish with the right time and attention, and I am passionate about helping every child achieve their potential.
