The content of my lessons include fun and interactive methods of teaching. I aim to get to know my students before teaching so I can find out how they prefer to be taught and their favourite methods they’ve used with their teacher. I have been through school, sixth form, and university style teaching in a bid to provide a wide range of activities to my students.

A standard lesson would include a small retrieval task from the previous lesson, an in depth study of a specific theme / topic, a task such as a quiz or game, and finish with a overview of the lesson and what the student gained from that, alongside a brief overview of what they would like from the next lesson.

For GCSE and A-Level students with upcoming exams, perfecting exam technique is important. Therefore I will go through all styles of exam questions, at request, with the student to go over how to answer them to the best of their ability.

I like to ask the students questions to prompt their thinking skills and guide them to make links between topics. The links they make between the wider world and their personal life helps them gain a better understanding of what happens in the world. I like to use local examples alongside international examples in my teaching when developing points around the economy and tourism.

The environment I provide gives the student a calm and friendly place to study. This can help them massively in terms of understanding key concepts and I hope they learn a lot from me!
