Ismail Syed (which is a lecturer at a private college/institute as I understand) is an exemplary teacher, who takes time to listen to his students first, evaluates all options and then approaches the need in a tailored way best suited to the individual student concerned. Whether it is explaining a complex law subject e.g. Tort or Contract or legal history or comparative law, he breaks it down into bite-size plain speaking outline. In assignments (my case dissertation) he assisted me to first equip me with the key techniques needed for dissertation panning while ensuring not to overwhelming me and helped me to shape and approach the question independently. He has your back all the way through to the end but leaves you space for your independent drafting (after all essays and assignments have can't be done by others). I liked Ismail's structuring and rearrangements of the dissertation and pushing me harder to "think", often prompting me to completely rearranging the key arguments.
