In school, I found the most effective way to learn was to allow students to approach issues themselves first and foremost, and then give guidance where necessary; in my lessons I hope to use this method to allow students to really understand what they’re learning, develop problem- solving skills and apply this to their work, not just copy and paste from my own knowledge.
Having only recently completing my A- levels myself, I have a very in depth understanding of the syllabus. This is crucial as Biology is a constantly evolving subject, with new biological findings always being made, from the discovery of new viruses, down to what makes up a cell nucleus!
My strengths are with the AQA GCSE Biology content, however, in terms of GCSE and below, biology knowledge is universal, and applicable with all exam boards.
My personal experience in school with Biology has confirmed my belief in the need for a tutor. I found that having one-to-one lessons with someone who is knowledgeable in the topic you are learning allows you to develop your own methods and approaches to different problems while still making sure you are in line with the specification.
