I love engaging with students through a detailed lesson plan that we can make together. What this means is that we will plan areas where the student needs support and establish how we want to go about this. The aim of this approach is to give the student as much power over their education as possible and to ensure that I am meeting their learning requirements and styles. I aim for my lessons to be dynamic and memorable, engaging with different learning styles.
I enjoy using tools like jam-boards, presentations and flash cards in my lessons to make them more memorable and enjoyable.
I have privately tutored children for 3 years now. Working primarily with children aged 6-8 but have also recently started tutoring adults. More specifically, I have started teaching English as a foreign language to adults within this past year which I have grown fond of. Teaching adults has also shown me that people of different ages require different styles of learning and need me as a teacher to encourage more practical knowledge. As a result of this in my private lessons with adults I focus on both English as a language and how to use English as a means of navigating adult life, for instance, how to write a formal email.
As I am an undergraduate at university, it is very difficult for my to offer in-person lessons. However if you are based in London N, NW or W I would be happy to consider in person tutoring during off term time!
