Isabelle Phillips

As an adult returner to learning French, Isabelle’s lessons have been extremely helpful in enabling me to work towards achieving my aims of developing my conversational skills, my general knowledge of the French language and my reading and writing skills. Isabelle’s approach is student-centred, using a variety of methods and strategies that enable me to work at my own pace in an engaging way. She has a friendly, approachable, flexible, and professional manner and is a conscientious teacher. For example, I receive a transcript of our conversation with learning points after each session and the material used during the lessons varies from straight-forward textbook exercises to the use of French song lyrics and magazine/journal articles.
