Love to start lessons with a warm up activity before moving into something to encourage sustained thinking about a particular topic. Sometimes this will be new, but we can also use tutoring sessions to go over learning more outside of these session.

We will complete a range of activities here based on the students needs from playing games to practice grammatical concepts to writing stories or going in depth considering how to create an engaging character. Tutoring maths in particular we will complete short and long questions always talking through what we are doing trying out best to consider usage of this content in practice and why it is particularly interesting.

We will then finish by discussing what progress we have made, where we’ve struggled and where we would like to develop further next time. This will help to place us with the aims set for the tutoring process as well as the particular objectives for this session. I may ask students to remind me of particularly useful information to ensure they have remembered it.

All lessons can be as student directed or tutor led as desired. I will set homework if i believe this will aid our sessions but in the case lessons are occurring alongside side this will unlikely be the case.
