Hi! Offering 1-to-1 classes with flexible hours.
My name is Isabelle, and my goal is to meet every student where they are and build their confidence and skills in time for their GCSE’s.
About myself:
I’m a recent graduate from the University of Aberdeen. I graduated with a First in English and Sociology. I have received awards (The Seafield Medal) for my quality of work in English and won Best Paper in the University’s student journal, the Elphinstone Review.
What makes me different:
I have experience in journalism as former Editor-in-Chief for the University newspaper, which has given me a strong background in functional uses of English. Through this, I have experience in proofreading, checking grammar and spelling, and assisting in improving writing.
Furthermore, I have a strong research background in diversity and inclusion, and would approach every student with a tailored and accommodating approach. English literature requires a level of social consciousness and awareness that enriches analysis, and this will be addressed in classes.
With a parent as a secondary school teacher, I have an ear to the ground for what is considered exceptional work and how we can work to get there.
Overall, I consider a love for reading and writing to be a powerful gift to carry forward for the rest of one’s life. and I hope to foster that with every class.
