Hi, my name is Isabelle and I have just completed a MSci Chemistry degree at Imperial College London. Prior to this, I studied Mathematics, Chemistry, Further Mathematics and Physics at A-level (A*A*AA).
I have 1.5+ years of tutoring experience, both in-person and online, as well as for individual and group lessons, primarily within KS3 and GCSE Mathematics. I strongly believe that the lessons should be unique to the individual student and so I tailor each session to meet their specific needs and learning styles.
At the beginning of each lesson, we start with a quick review of the previous content to ensure a solid understanding and identify any areas that need additional work. This helps to build a strong foundation and address any lingering questions or uncertainties.
To make the learning experience enjoyable and engaging, I like to incorporate fun activities and educational games into the lessons where possible. These not only help to break the ice and make the sessions more enjoyable but also reinforce key concepts in a relaxed and pressure-free environment. It is important to me that these sessions do not feel like 'extra school' but instead an opportunity to improve, taking the most out of 1-1 teaching.
Throughout the lessons, I focus on building the student’s confidence by encouraging them and celebrating their progress. I use a variety of teaching methods, including visual aids, practical examples, and interactive problem-solving exercises, to cater to different learning preferences.
My goal is to create a supportive and dynamic learning environment where students feel comfortable to ask questions and are motivated to achieve their best. Whether it’s preparing for exams, tackling challenging topics, or just improving overall math skills, I am committed to helping my students succeed and reach their full potential.
