I’m Issy,
I am 19 years old and currently work as a nursery assistant.
I am passionate about teaching and enjoy working with children to improve understanding.
I love a spreadsheet so everything is recorded from ability in starters and topics to scores in tests everything will be available to you to track and monitor progress.
My maths sessions are broken down into three sections. First is a times tables activity as these need to be solid for every aspect of mathematics. (Scores and times will be logged in a spreadsheet). Secondly is a starter activity of around 5-8 questions based on previous topics to practice recall and make sure there is a good level of understanding. And finally the main part of the session where we focus on 1-2 topics depending on size and difficulty.
For science I work very similarly to maths excluding the times tables. With science I will work in topics unlike maths where I will pick and choose from geometry to algebra. By sticking with a topic for science the understanding can be built up over the weeks just like they would be taught in school.
Our first session would be looking at and setting goals as well as gathering a base understanding of where the student is and what we can achieve.
I work hard to provide the best service possible for the children and will use many different techniques to find out what works best for you child. Each session is tailored to your child and is presented in a way they will be able to grasp.
