Isabella Rezende

I am native Portuguese speaker from Brazil and I've been teaching English for over five years now. Absolutely love teaching and learning languages, I have a bachelor's degree in filmmaking, love reading all kinds of books (but mostly, mistery and horror), absolutely love animals, not bugs though, and some of my favorite things are History and Art! I also think it's incredibly beautiful how a language carries it's culture, and how a new world opens to you when you have a second language. My big dream is to be multilingual (I've learn a tiny bit of Spanish, and a little German, but really have to come back to it.)

My method in class is always trying to make my students as comfortable as possible, and finding as many aspects in common as possible as well, using day to day examples and topics of interest like culture in general. I've come to realize that even a slight similarity between teacher and student can make classes a lot more productive. I also believe in teaching without pressure, everybody has their own time and I don't think there should be a bad feeling around learning a new language, since it is hard, and also something we tend to block in our brains very easily. Also, if you're learning Portuguese, I know it's confusing, take your time with it and just be proud!
