I provide tailored lesson plans once a week in hour long sessions, adjusting the length and intervals depending on my student's needs. My lessons are informal, relaxed environments in which my students familiarize themselves with the daunting academic procedure laid out by GCSE and A Level exam specs. We go over any and all areas the student finds challenging first, from close analysis to developing skills of argumentation. From there, we practice together- demystifying the process and improving a student's confidence in gradual intervals. I aim to communicate a passion for English beyond the remit of examination, believing that successful performance comes from a strong bedrock of self belief and genuine enjoyment of the subject. As such, I encourage my students to develop their interests in reading and writing for pleasure, ensuring that by the time exams come around they are comfortable with their own abilities. My lessons are conducted online over zoom, though I am happy to arrange lessons in person depending on the student's location.
I am a University of Cambridge student, in my final year of an Undergraduate degree in English Literature, and have 5 years previous experience in education. Previous roles include a 3 year stint as a Drama Teacher for Windmill Youth Theater, where I delivered a tailored curriculum to students aged 6 to 15, and as an Arts Manager at a Girl Scout Camp. Outside of my academic work, I love good music, good food and I'm a down to earth and friendly person who loves to meet new people from all walks of life.
