I mostly teach online, and I use an online whiteboard to share my notes with my student - I have a tablet and a digital pen I use for this, so my notes are easy to read. At the end of the lesson, I share the PDF of the whiteboard with my student, so that they can go back and look over the taught material if they would like to.

I teach in a relaxed way, and my main aim is to ensure that the student feels comfortable asking me any mathematical question they might have. It's a priority of mine to really get to know what the needs of my student are, so that I can deliver my tutorials in the best way possible. I am very thorough and consistent with my teaching, and I answer any questions my students have.

My first lesson involves introducing myself to the student, and getting to know the student: what their mathematical background is, what topics they need help with, what experience they have with the topic / entrance exam they need help with, and whether they have a preferred teaching style (e.g. more interactive, more questions demonstrated on the whiteboard, homework, etc.).

I would prepare the lesson beforehand. The lesson is typically a mix of me teaching and demonstrating of mathematical theory on the whiteboard, and also going through exam questions together. I would show the student mathematical tricks and commonly used techniques in problem solving.

I have very quick response times, and I prepare in advance any questions the student might have gathered in between tutorials, provided they send it to me via email (or other preferred communication method) at least 48h in advance of the tutorial.

Typically, a lesson would be an hour long.

I have mentored students before, helping them with the process of applying to university and tutoring them maths for admission tests. I am currently actively tutoring a few students in entrance exam maths.

Who I teach: GCSE and A-level students; students preparing for University admission tests (MAT, STEP, TMUA); 11+ and 13+ entrance exams.
